A recent contestant on the popular ITV quiz show Tipping Point has shared a remarkable personal update after appearing on the programme: the couple who appeared on screen to talk about using their winnings for fertility treatment are now parents of triplets. The heartwarming revelation was shared by host Ben Shephard on social media, delighting viewers with the news of the family’s expanded household.
During the original episode — filmed several years earlier but broadcast recently — contestant Jamie McEvoy from Chorley, Lancashire explained that he and his wife Hayley were hoping to have another child through in‑vitro fertilisation (IVF), and that any prize money he won on the show would go toward funding that treatment. At the time, the couple were already parents to a young son, Otis, and were candid about both the emotional and financial pressures of fertility care.
Jamie chose a cautious approach in his game, electing to take home the £3,000 he had already earned rather than risk losing it by gambling for a larger jackpot. He explained to Shephard that the money would be put toward another round of IVF in the hope of growing their family.
In his recent update on X (formerly Twitter), Shephard revealed that the couple’s IVF treatment was a success — and then some. With the help of the money won on Tipping Point, Jamie and Hayley welcomed three new babies into their family: Nova, Jasper and Billy. The presenter shared photos of the delighted parents with their newborns, calling it “our first Tipping Point triplets” and saying that the outcome “couldn’t get much better.”
The news quickly drew praise and warm reactions from viewers and social media followers, who celebrated not only the family’s expanding household but also the uplifting impact of the couple’s decision to use their winnings to pursue fertility treatment. For many, the story underscores how modest quiz show earnings, when applied with purpose, can make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.
