A woman who was rescued alongside her dogs after becoming stranded in dangerous conditions has said she felt like the “biggest fool” following the dramatic incident that prompted an emergency response from rescue teams.

The woman had been walking with her dogs when she found herself trapped in an area where conditions quickly became hazardous. Emergency services were alerted after concerns were raised that she could not safely return on her own. Rescue teams were subsequently deployed to locate and assist her.

Authorities said the operation required careful coordination to ensure both the woman and her pets were brought to safety. Rescuers worked to reach the location and safely escort them away from the area without injury.

After the rescue, the woman spoke about her experience and the embarrassment she felt over the situation. She described the moment she realised she could not safely get back as frightening and overwhelming. Reflecting on the event afterwards, she said she felt foolish for underestimating the risks involved.

Emergency responders stressed that situations like this can happen quickly, particularly in remote or exposed environments where weather conditions, terrain or rising water levels may change rapidly. Even experienced walkers can become trapped if they misjudge conditions or routes.

Rescue teams also highlighted the importance of preparation when venturing outdoors. Checking weather forecasts, informing others about travel plans and carrying suitable equipment can significantly reduce the risk of emergencies.

Animal welfare was another concern during the incident, but rescuers confirmed the dogs were unharmed and remained with their owner throughout the operation. Authorities said ensuring the safety of both people and animals is a key part of many rescue missions.

The woman expressed gratitude to the emergency crews who responded to the call for help. She acknowledged that the rescue involved considerable effort and resources, and said she was thankful for the professionalism and kindness shown by the team during what had been a stressful ordeal.

Officials say the incident serves as a reminder that outdoor activities, while enjoyable, require careful planning and awareness of potential hazards. For many rescue teams, responding to walkers or visitors caught in unexpected conditions remains a regular part of their work.

In this case, the outcome was positive, with both the woman and her dogs returning safely home. But the experience, she said, left her determined to be more cautious in the future — and grateful for the rescuers who helped turn a potentially dangerous situation into a safe ending.
