Northern Ireland drag queen Elle Vosque has taken second place in the series seven final of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK. Known off-stage as Evan Keating, Elle appeared in the final alongside Silllexa Dixon, Catrin Feelings, and series winner Bones.
Friends and fans gathered at a watch party for the west Belfast finalist at Union Street bar on Thursday night. Trudy Scrumptious, who hosted the event, said the community was thrilled to support Elle and showcase Belfast drag talent at its best.
The Only Sassie, a longtime friend, praised Elle’s craft and authenticity, describing her as “utter magic” and expressing pride in her artistry. Fellow fans said Elle represents Belfast with fashion-forward performances and a mix of class and humour, highlighting the city’s alternative drag scene.
Daniel Stinson and Lee Potter, who have known Elle for years, commented on her authenticity and potential, noting her distinct Belfast accent and consistent performance throughout the show. Etta Stiletta added that Elle’s fashion sense and stage presence are beyond her years, celebrating her roots in west Belfast.
The Ulster University student has been performing as Elle Vosque for almost five years. She recently took a gap year from her textiles and fashion degree, a skill that proved invaluable during the show’s design challenges. Inspired by Broadway singer Jessica Vosk, Elle was especially excited for music-based challenges, citing musical theatre as her gateway into drag performance.
