David Beckham has received a dividend of about £39 million from his commercial business empire following a record year of revenue and profit, with a series of major brand partnerships connected to the 2026 Fifa World Cup helping strengthen the former England captain’s global business profile.
The payment came as DRJB Holdings, the commercial company behind Beckham’s wider brands and business interests, reported a significant rise in both revenue and pre-tax profit. The company’s latest results show how Beckham’s influence has increasingly extended beyond football, with advertising, licensing, entertainment, fashion and other commercial ventures now forming a substantial business operation around his name.
DRJB Holdings recorded revenue of $110.5 million for the latest financial year, representing an increase of about one-fifth from $92.3 million in 2024. Pre-tax profit also reached a record $65.7 million, up 46 per cent from the previous year. The figures underline the continued commercial strength of the Beckham brand as he remains one of the most recognisable former footballers in the world.
A major factor behind the heightened commercial activity has been the 2026 World Cup, staged in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Beckham was involved in roughly a dozen advertising campaigns around the tournament during the summer, working with a range of internationally recognised companies.
His commercial appearances included campaigns involving Lenovo, McDonald’s, Bank of America, Verizon and PepsiCo’s Lay’s brand. The number of partnerships demonstrated the continued demand among global companies for Beckham’s association with sport, celebrity culture and international audiences.
For Beckham, the World Cup also represented an opportunity to build on a commercial career that has developed substantially since his retirement from professional football in 2013. While he remains closely associated with his playing career, his business interests have increasingly become an important part of his public profile.
The latest dividend arrangements also reflect the ownership structure of Beckham’s business empire. In 2022, Beckham sold a 55 per cent stake in his businesses to US-based Authentic Brands Group in a deal worth £200 million. Beckham retained a 45 per cent interest, meaning that he continues to benefit substantially from the financial performance of the businesses operated under the wider group.
DRJB Holdings paid $51.1 million in dividends to shareholders during the reported financial year, compared with $53 million in the previous year. However, the company also made a further $61.6 million payment in special dividends during the current year. As a result, Beckham received approximately $51 million from the special dividend distribution, equivalent to around £39 million.
The figures provide an indication of the scale at which Beckham’s commercial activities now operate. His business interests are no longer dependent solely on conventional sponsorship arrangements. Instead, the group encompasses a wide range of activities, including licensing, media production, fashion collaborations and long-term partnerships with international corporations.
One of the largest divisions within DRJB Holdings is DB Ventures, which manages many of Beckham’s brand partnerships. The division has been associated with major names such as Hugo Boss and forms a central part of the commercial structure built around his personal brand.
Ahead of the World Cup, Beckham expanded several of those commercial relationships. He signed a multiyear partnership with Bank of America, becoming an ambassador for the financial institution’s global sports programme. The agreement further connected his international sporting reputation with a major financial brand at a time when global interest in football was reaching extraordinary levels.
His fashion interests also continued to grow. Beckham launched menswear collections with Hugo Boss, adding to an established relationship with the German fashion company. He also introduced an eponymous range of spectacles through Safilo, extending his brand into another consumer market.
Football remained another important part of his commercial activities. Beckham collaborated with Adidas on a limited-edition Predator football boot, linking his present-day business activities with one of the most recognisable products associated with his playing career.
His media ventures have also contributed to the broader expansion of the business. Beckham reached a new agreement for “Beckham & Friends Live”, a programme carried by Paramount+ and associated with coverage around the Uefa Champions League. Such projects have allowed him to maintain a visible presence in football while developing his role as a media personality and producer.
Advertising has remained another significant component of the Beckham business. He appeared alongside actor and producer Theo James in a Stella Artois campaign connected with the second season of the Netflix series “The Gentlemen”. The campaign represented another example of Beckham’s ability to operate across the boundaries of sport, entertainment and lifestyle marketing.
The structure of DRJB Holdings extends beyond Beckham’s personal endorsement arrangements. The company includes Seven Global, which holds licensing agreements with businesses including Adidas. It also incorporates Studio 99, the production company responsible for several major entertainment projects.
Studio 99 was behind the four-part Netflix documentary “Beckham”, which explored the former footballer’s life and career and became a major part of his post-football media profile. The production company also worked on the Netflix documentary about Victoria Beckham, released the previous year, further demonstrating the family’s growing involvement in entertainment production.
Beckham’s commercial activities have also expanded into investment. He is an investor in businesses outside the traditional sports and entertainment sectors, including supplement company IM8, which he co-founded in 2024, and BeeUp, a company focused on honey-based fruit snacks.
The breadth of those investments illustrates a wider transformation in the way elite athletes can develop their careers after retirement. Beckham’s playing career ended more than a decade ago, but his name continues to generate commercial opportunities across multiple industries.
Authentic Brands Group, which jointly owns DRJB Holdings alongside Footwork Productions, has also highlighted the strength of the business behind Beckham’s public image. Corey Salter, Authentic Brands’ chief executive of entertainment, described Beckham as a powerful global brand spanning sport, lifestyle and entertainment.
The company has argued that the latest financial results demonstrate the effectiveness of its management structure and its focus on profitable growth. Such comments reflect the commercial strategy that has developed since Authentic Brands acquired its majority stake in Beckham’s businesses.
For Beckham himself, the latest dividend is another indication of how successfully his post-football career has evolved into a global commercial enterprise. His earnings are now generated through a combination of advertising contracts, licensing arrangements, fashion collaborations, media projects and investments rather than from football alone.
The 2026 World Cup provided an especially prominent platform for that business empire. With millions of fans following the tournament across international markets, Beckham’s appearances in multiple campaigns allowed participating brands to connect their products with one of football’s most familiar global figures.
His involvement also highlights the continuing commercial value of former sporting stars who retain strong international recognition long after leaving professional competition. Beckham’s career has moved from the football pitch to advertising campaigns, boardrooms, fashion collections and television screens, creating a business network that continues to expand.
At 51, Beckham remains closely connected to football through his ownership and business interests while simultaneously maintaining a broad presence in global entertainment and consumer markets. The latest financial results show that this diversified strategy has produced substantial revenues and profits, while the multimillion-pound dividend demonstrates the direct financial returns generated by the business empire associated with his name.
As the commercial impact of the 2026 World Cup continues to develop, Beckham’s extensive involvement with major international brands has provided a fresh boost to a business operation that has been steadily expanding since his retirement. His latest dividend therefore represents not simply a payment from a successful year, but another milestone in the continuing transformation of David Beckham from global football star into an international sports, entertainment and lifestyle brand.
