Even amid a very public family rift, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham publicly wished their eldest son Brooklyn Beckham a happy 27th birthday this week, posting affectionate messages and old family photos on social media despite ongoing tensions. The gesture attracted wide attention because it represents the first public engagement between the couple and their son since he made allegations against them earlier this year, intensifying speculation about the state of their family relationships.

On Tuesday, David Beckham shared three Instagram Stories featuring nostalgic images of Brooklyn as a child. In one, the former England football captain stood beside Victoria and a young Brooklyn in a swimming pool, captioning it: “27 today. Happy Birthday Bust. We love you x,” using a longtime family nickname. Victoria posted similar tributes, including a picture of her holding Brooklyn as a toddler and writing: “Happy Birthday Brooklyn, we love you so much,” accompanied by heart emojis. Neither parent tagged Brooklyn in the posts, which appear intended to express love while respecting his explicit social media boundaries.

The public outreach comes more than two months after Brooklyn Peltz Beckham issued a lengthy Instagram statement in January in which he accused his parents of prioritising the Beckham brand over family ties and claimed they undermined his relationship with his wife, actress Nicola Peltz Beckham. He said he did not want to reconcile and asserted that the fallout had been building for years. Brooklyn also made pointed remarks about incidents from his 2022 wedding that left him feeling “uncomfortable or humiliated,” although some attendees later described those moments differently.

Reports indicate Brooklyn has blocked both David and Victoria on social media as part of the estrangement and had formally requested that any communication be handled through legal representatives. Despite those conditions, the birthday posts were widely interpreted as a public olive branch — or attempt at one — at a moment when private contact appears limited or non‑existent.

Friends and insiders have offered differing perspectives on the messages’ significance. Some view the parents’ posts as a heartfelt attempt to show love on a milestone day; others see them as publicity‑driven or counterproductive given Brooklyn’s stated desire for privacy and distance. As of now, Brooklyn has not publicly responded to the birthday wishes on his own accounts.

The situation has sparked broader public discussion about family disputes in the social media age, where private disagreements can quickly become global talking points. While affectionate in tone, David and Victoria’s posts underscore how personal disputes among high‑profile families play out under intense public scrutiny.
