Peter Andre Breaks 16-Year Silence with Scathing Statement Against Katie Price

A long-simmering feud between singer Peter Andre and his ex-wife Katie Price erupted into the public sphere once again, as Andre issued a strongly worded statement on social media, accusing Price of “repeated lies” and vowing to set the record straight after more than a decade of silence. The remarks have reignited public attention on one of Britain’s most scrutinised celebrity breakups, highlighting deep-seated disagreements over their children, past legal battles, and public narratives surrounding their divorce.

Andre, 52, took to Instagram in a post that many have described as his most direct and forceful intervention since his 2009 split from Price. His comments came shortly after Price criticised the producers of their daughter Princess Andre’s debut reality television series, which features extensive appearances by Andre but only limited inclusion of Price. The 18-year-old Princess has been managed professionally by Andre’s management team, The CAN Group, a fact that has been at the centre of recent tensions.

In his statement, Andre declared that for sixteen years he had refrained from publicly countering allegations made by his ex-wife and her family, a decision he said was made out of respect for his children and loved ones. However, he insisted that recent comments concerning his children’s welfare and living arrangements had compelled him to speak publicly. Andre revealed, for the first time, that in 2018 his children, Junior and Princess, came into his full-time care “for well-documented reasons” and remained with him until adulthood. He stated that this arrangement was legally enforced in 2019 through a binding family court order.

The singer also pointed to previous legal disputes in 2011 and 2015, during which courts had ruled that Price’s claims about him were false, resulting in orders for her to pay damages, legal costs, and issue public apologies to him and his management. He claimed that similar falsehoods were being repeated today, and warned that further accusations yet to be addressed would be dealt with in the coming months.

Price, 47, responded through a spokesperson, who said she was now in a “better and clear headspace” and had no interest in revisiting “tit-for-tat” exchanges. According to her representative, the matter was now in the hands of her lawyers, and she would not be “gaslit and bullied as she once was.” Price has long maintained that she has been excluded from certain aspects of her daughter’s professional life, including her reality series and even her 18th birthday celebrations. She recently claimed she was banned from attending the party, which she said was organised for filming purposes, and alleged that Andre’s management team had prevented her from appearing on the show, describing their reasoning as viewing her as “trash.”

In her own public remarks, Price expressed hurt at what she perceives as her exclusion from Princess’s career milestones. Speaking on her podcast, she said she did not mind being absent from the programme itself or needing to raise her own profile through it, but insisted she wanted to be present to support her daughter during photo shoots, signings, and other professional commitments — just as her own family had once supported her during her modelling career.

The documentary series featuring Princess has delved into sensitive family topics, including her memories of her parents’ high-profile divorce and other public relationships. In one candid moment, Princess admitted she had seen a counsellor and sometimes struggled to express her feelings, instead choosing to write them down. She reflected on wishing she had enjoyed a happier childhood, describing the emotional challenges she faced at a young age.

Despite their history of public disputes, Price has recently suggested that the family could benefit from a mediated conversation involving herself, Andre, and his management team. She expressed the hope that both parents might come together to support their daughter more collaboratively, saying she wanted to “stop putting Princess in the middle” and move towards a more peaceful arrangement.

Andre and Price, who married in 2005 after meeting on the reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, share two children, Junior and Princess. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2009, and since then they have had little to no direct communication, with most exchanges taking place through legal representatives or public statements.

With Andre signalling that his long-standing restraint in public commentary is now at an end, and Price calling for dialogue while also placing matters in the hands of her lawyers, the latest chapter in this turbulent relationship appears poised to unfold in both the public eye and the courts. For now, the rift between the former couple remains unresolved, but the personal stakes — centred on their children’s well-being and public image — are as high as ever.
