Rihanna's Beverly Hills home hit by gunfire as woman arrested

A woman has been arrested after allegedly firing multiple shots at the Beverly Hills home of pop superstar Rihanna while the singer was inside, authorities have confirmed .

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a report of “shots fired” at the residence around 1:15 p.m. local time on Sunday, March 8 . A 30-year-old female suspect was located shortly afterward and taken into custody without incident, and a weapon was recovered at the scene .

No injuries were reported in the incident, which remains under investigation by the department’s Robbery Homicide Division .

According to police Sgt. Jonathan de Vera, the suspect allegedly fired multiple rounds toward the residence from inside a vehicle parked across the street from the property . Radio dispatch audio obtained by the Los Angeles Times indicates that first responders reported approximately 10 shots being fired from a white Tesla . The vehicle then fled south on Coldwater Canyon Drive before being located by police .

Multiple sources have confirmed that at least one bullet penetrated the wall of the mansion during the shooting .

A source told PEOPLE that Rihanna was home at the time of the incident and is “okay” . The 38-year-old singer lives at the colonial-style property in Beverly Hills’ prestigious Post Office neighbourhood with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky, and their three children — sons RZA, three, Riot Rose, two, and daughter Rocki, who was born last September . It remains unclear whether any other family members were inside when the gunfire occurred .

Police broadcast details over radio describing the suspect as having braided hair and wearing a cream-coloured blouse . Officers later located the vehicle in a shopping centre parking lot in the Sherman Oaks neighbourhood of Los Angeles, where the suspect was arrested roughly 30 minutes after the initial emergency call .

The suspect’s identity has not yet been publicly released, and booking information is pending . Police have not disclosed a possible motive or indicated whether the suspect had any connection to the singer .

This is not the first time Rihanna’s property has been targeted. In 2018, a man broke into her Hollywood Hills home and remained inside for approximately 12 hours before being discovered by her assistant . The intruder, later identified as Eduardo Leon, had entered by hopping a fence and later pleaded no contest to stalking charges. Rihanna was not home at the time of that incident .

Rihanna, born Robyn Rihanna Fenty, is one of the best-selling music artists of all time with estimated sales of over 250 million records worldwide . The nine-time Grammy winner recently celebrated her 20th anniversary in the music industry, having risen to fame with hits including “Umbrella,” “Take a Bow,” and “Disturbia” .
