Published: 11 June 2026. The English Chronicle Desk. The English Chronicle Online.

A major government contractor has launched an investigation into fresh allegations of widespread racism. The company is currently reviewing deeply disturbing claims of antisemitism and Islamophobia among its workforce. These allegations involve employees who manage immigration removal centres and escort vulnerable migrants during deportations. Whistleblowers have compiled a detailed dossier containing offensive comments made both inside the workplace and online. This extensive evidence has been formally delivered to senior executives at the private company, Mitie. The business provides essential security services across the United Kingdom on behalf of the government. Officials at the Home Office have stated that these serious matters are for Mitie.

The distressing revelations have sparked immense concern regarding the workplace culture inside British immigration facilities. The leaked dossier contains several specific examples of Islamophobic language allegedly used by staff members. One employee allegedly declared that immigrants should be permanently kicked out of our country. Another worker reportedly made the sweeping statement that all Muslim men beat their wives. These reported remarks have raised urgent questions about the treatment of people awaiting deportation. Such comments also raise doubts about the professionalism of individuals tasked with enforcing immigration laws. The company must now determine how deeply these prejudiced attitudes run through its organization.

The compiled evidence also details highly offensive activity on various personal social media profiles. One employee allegedly expressed digital support for a controversial group with distinct far-right connections. This group reportedly maintains strong links to the prominent far-right activist Stephen Yaxley-Lennon. The political agitator is widely known throughout the United Kingdom as Tommy Robinson. Other online posts allegedly liked by company staff contain derogatory terms toward women. Another post depicted an Orthodox Jewish man alongside deeply offensive and antisemitic profanity. A separate social media message compared burning illegal substances to destroying the holy Qur’an. These discoveries have severely damaged the reputation of the critical government contractor.

Further allegations highlight a culture of casual racism during daily operations inside the company. A staff member allegedly complained about escorting deportees on a coach because of smell. This employee specifically stated a distaste for sitting next to people smelling like curry. Such comments have intensified fears regarding the safety and dignity of detainees under custody. Additionally, a senior manager reportedly liked a post written by a prominent far-right activist. The online post claimed that Mayor Sadiq Khan is transforming London into a Muslim city. The message concluded with a demand to return the capital to a Christian city. Mitie claimed this specific interaction was merely an accidental error by the employee.

The corporate leadership decided that no further action would be taken against this manager. However, the decision has done little to calm the anger surrounding the situation. One whistleblower has stepped forward to demand a comprehensive and independent investigation into everything. This individual identifies as a proud member of the Black, Asian, and minority ethnic community. The worker described feeling absolutely appalled and deeply distressed by the ongoing workplace behaviour. This person no longer feels safe or respected while performing essential professional duties. The toxic environment has created a hostile and discriminatory culture across multiple operational sites.

This internal culture reportedly puts staff members and vulnerable detainees at very severe risk. The whistleblower explained that the current situation threatens the validity of important government contracts. This dedicated employee suffers from immense stress and intense anxiety before every working shift. The fear of coming to work has significantly impacted the mental health of staff. This person no longer feels truly valued, protected, or supported by the company. The situation feels like a massive betrayal because their core role involves helping vulnerable people. The individual chose anonymity to avoid facing immediate professional retaliation from company managers.

Nevertheless, the brave whistleblower stands firmly by every single detail submitted in the report. This is unfortunately not the first time Mitie has faced serious racism accusations. The chief executive previously issued an official apology to the Home Secretary in 2022. This apology followed the shocking discovery of racist messages inside an employee group chat. That specific WhatsApp group contained over one hundred staff members discussing daily transport logistics. The offensive messaging platform was subsequently closed down after an intense public backlash occurred. The recurring nature of these incidents suggests a systemic problem within the security firm.

Furthermore, an employment tribunal in 2021 expressed deep concern about immigration contractor behaviour. The legal panel investigated contractors who used historical racist slurs against black colleagues. That tribunal ultimately dismissed the specific claim of race and disability discrimination brought forward. However, judges explicitly noted their profound discomfort with the language used by deport officials. Another separate investigation commenced last year following an incident at an asylum processing centre. This event occurred at the highly sensitive Manston facility located in rural Kent. The facility routinely handles asylum seekers who arrive in the country via small boats.

A deeply offensive message was reportedly broadcast widely over portable radios at Manston. The transmission included the highly offensive racial slur alongside demands to go back home. This shocking audio broadcast was clearly heard by numerous personnel working on site. Company sources stated they do not comment publicly on the specifics of active investigations. However, they confirmed that communications technology has been upgraded significantly since that radio incident. The new systems enhance traceability and allow supervisors to monitor all audio transmissions closely. These technological upgrades aim to prevent similar rogue broadcasts from happening in the future.

A spokesperson for Mitie emphasized that racism has no place within their business. The company insists that discrimination of any type will never be tolerated anywhere. Executives claim they take all allegations of this nature exceptionally seriously at all times. They have promised to investigate every element of the new dossier very thoroughly. Despite these official assurances, human rights groups are demanding greater transparency from the government. Critics argue that private companies should face stricter penalties for failing to control staff. The Home Office remains under pressure to monitor these essential security contracts more effectively.

The outcome of this latest investigation could have major implications for public outsourcing. The government relies heavily on private firms to manage complex border control operations daily. If the allegations are proven true, calls for reform will undoubtedly grow louder. For now, the whistleblower hopes this dossier will finally force a cultural shift. The safety and dignity of asylum seekers depend entirely on professional conduct from staff. Until the investigation concludes, the contractor faces intense scrutiny over its workplace environment. The public expects higher standards from companies funded by taxpayers to perform state duties.
