A lottery player in France has scooped the record-breaking EuroMillions jackpot of €250 million, equivalent to around £210 million, in a draw that has gone down as one of the most extraordinary in the game’s history. The National Lottery confirmed that one lucky ticket matched all five numbers and the two “lucky stars” in Tuesday night’s draw, securing a life-changing fortune that will transform not only the winner’s life but potentially those of their family and friends as well.
The winning numbers were 24, 31, 34, 41 and 43, with the lucky stars 06 and 08. According to the EuroMillions website, one jackpot-winning ticket was confirmed around an hour after the draw. While the prize has yet to be formally claimed, organisers have revealed that the winning entry was purchased in France.
This historic win comes just two months after an Irish family syndicate claimed the full €250 million (£216 million) jackpot on 17 June. The jackpot had reached its cap on 6 June following a series of rollovers that pushed it to the maximum amount allowed under EuroMillions rules.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ advisor at Allwyn, which operates The National Lottery in the UK, emphasised the life-changing nature of the draw. “Tuesday’s jackpot has the ability to transform not just the winner’s life, but the life of the friends and family around them,” he said. “So, make sure you get a ticket to be in with a chance of banking Britain’s biggest ever win.”
While the jackpot winner takes home the extraordinary top prize, thousands of other players across Europe also won smaller amounts. Seven players matched five numbers and one lucky star, each earning an estimated £130,554.30, while another seven players who matched all five numbers collected £13,561.20 apiece. A further 78 participants matched four numbers and two stars to claim £844.70 each. At the lowest tier, over 1.6 million people matched two numbers, winning £2.50.
The EuroMillions has produced some of the largest lottery prizes in history, with the UK often at the centre of record-breaking wins. The biggest UK win to date came earlier this year when an anonymous ticket holder claimed £213 million on 18 June 2025. Other historic winners include Joe and Jess Thwaite, who collected £184 million in May 2022, and Colin and Chris Weir, who won £161 million in July 2011.
With jackpots regularly rolling over and millions of hopeful players taking part across Europe, EuroMillions has cemented itself as one of the world’s most lucrative lotteries. For the latest winner in France, however, the dream has already become reality, with a fortune that will go down in history as one of the greatest prizes ever awarded.
