The final scorelines might look identical but the stylistic shift is massive. France has transformed completely since their last encounter with the Atlas Lions. Didier Deschamps has successfully steered his team toward a freeform attacking philosophy. The French squad dominated the recent semi-final clash with incredible tactical flair. Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé combined perfectly to lead their team forward. The fifty-seven-year-old manager has seen his bold tactical vision fully vindicated. His players now operate with a level of freedom that feels very fresh.

Back in the winter of twenty-twenty-two the approach was quite pragmatic. Les Bleus managed to stifle the Moroccan attack during that tense fixture. France won by converting two of their three shots on target then. They kept that tournament’s breakout team quiet throughout the entire ninety minutes. Things felt completely different during the recent match played in Boston today. The French team tested Yassine Bounou four times more than they ever did. It was actually the turn of France to feel frustrated on pitch.

A high pressing line has become a major feature of this side. It represents a significant innovation compared to previous versions of this team. This strategy kept the Atlas Lions pinned deep for the first half. They lacked an attacking focal point following the absence of Ismael Saibari. Morocco struggled to find any relief from the intense French pressure applied. The team offered very little going forward throughout that opening forty-five minutes.

Many fans feared the bruising victory over Paraguay might hurt momentum. The French attack had been scoring over three goals per match previously. They looked stunted against a very combative and aggressive defensive unit there. That South American side had clearly laid a blueprint for stopping France. Poor refereeing decisions during that encounter added to the growing French tension. The bitterness of that previous match lasted for several long days indeed.

Kylian Mbappé suffered through racist abuse from a vocal Paraguayan political figure. Didier Deschamps remained focused on the football during his pre-match media briefing. The manager insisted Morocco would be the opponent rather than the officiating crew. France enjoyed a fairer contest against a less provocative side this time. Morocco still presented a very stern defensive test for the French stars. A familiar sense of growing exasperation settled over the stadium quite early.

Bounou made several fine saves to deny the efforts of Désiré Doué. The forward line struggled to connect with one another for long stretches. A three-minute delay before the penalty kick only increased the French irritation. Morocco played with much less conservative tactics than the Paraguay squad had. Mbappé found a great opening behind his former teammate Achraf Hakimi often. That movement eventually led to the penalty kick awarded to the team. The captain created enough space on the edge of the box finally. He broke the deadlock just around the hour mark of the game.

His strike opened the scoring after a period of somewhat wasteful finishing. Ousmane Dembélé scored a fantastic goal just a few minutes later today. This moment hinted that the floodgates might open for the French team. An ankle problem forced Mbappé to leave the game quite prematurely though. That substitution naturally disrupted the rhythm of the entire French attacking unit.

Les Bleus held less possession than their opponents throughout the entire game. The momentum of the match never swung against the French team today. Manu Koné delivered an excellent performance in the middle of the pitch. He secured his place in the starting eleven for the coming games. His presence laid to rest worries regarding the fitness of Aurélien Tchouaméni.

The defensive line has rarely been tested over three hours of play. This reality suits the current needs of the reigning world champion side. William Saliba continues to struggle with some nagging back injury issues lately. The team now enters uncharted territory as they reach the final four. Either Spain or Belgium will offer a much sharper attacking threat soon. The upcoming opponents will surely be less forgiving than those faced before.

Morocco was pinned back as France suffocated their best tournament attacking players. Les Bleus never felt truly threatened despite their struggles in front goal. Adrien Rabiot spoke to the broadcasters about the feeling of complete control. The players never felt like they needed to fear the opposition attack. France created over a dozen chances before finally finding the back net. The telepathic interplay between the stars was evident for all to see.

However the sheer quantity of chances masks some wayward finishing problems today. Didier Deschamps conceded that his team must improve their clinical edge soon. The quality of the opponent increases as they reach the final stages. A higher level of precision will be required in the coming games. France will soon leave the east coast for the semi-final in Dallas. They move away from the comfort zone established throughout this busy summer. The squad appears entirely ready to face whatever challenge comes their way next. Confidence remains high within the camp as they pursue another massive trophy. Every player seems united in their quest for another world title win. The fans will expect nothing less than total victory in the final.
