Trump Tightens Grip on GOP with Primary Victory

Voters in battleground Pennsylvania chose nominees for several highly competitive congressional house seats. These specific races could ultimately help decide which party wins the legislative majority. Democrats elevated state representative Chris Rabb in a closely watched and intense primary. Rabb describes his political platform as being aggressively and intentionally anti-establishment in nature. His narrow victory became a fascinating microcosm of internal ideological struggles within his party.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump made another controversial move in a different primary race. He officially endorsed Ken Paxton, the scandal-plagued Texas attorney general running for Senate. They operated a powerful Super Pac to run aggressive advertisements against the incumbent. The president even travelled to Kentucky himself to deliver a fierce rally speech. He denounced the sitting congressman as completely disloyal to the United States.

Trump added quite directly that the independent congressman fully deserved to lose. Speaking to his emotional supporters on Tuesday evening, Massie remained relatively calm.
